Welcome to the first post of 2020!
Give yourself a pat on the back for surviving 2019 and more specifically for surviving the 2019 holiday season. We had to power through overeating temptations, drunk relatives, excited kids and excited adults (its time to take that tree down Patricia!) to being stuck in that Christmas-New year’s vortex where most of us had to work but weren’t quite sure if it was time to be relaxed, festive or productive. Luckily we don’t have to deal with the holiday twilight zone anymore, Let’s get straight into these 5 tools from Amazon that will help to keep you on track for the new year.
A PLANNER
A new Planner is highly recommended as this allows you to organize your daily tasks and monthly goals. A planner also helps you to indirectly evaluate how long tasks are taking; for example, if you have made a list of 10 tasks and only accomplished 7, you need to reevaluate if you can realistically accomplish ten tasks the next day. You may need to cut your list down to 7 tasks. A Planner will also help with forecasting. By adding future appointments and important dates you can schedule your time better and avoid appointment conflicts. Crossing things off on your list is also a very fulfilling feeling when working with a planner this will also create an opportunity to celebrate that small win.
When you ask yourself at the end of the year “what did I do with my life?” your planner will be there as a response to this very question.
MAKEUP ORGANIZER
A make organizer will go a long way this year if you wish to keep your face cute and your dresser organized. Imagine yourself running late, one foot is already out the door when you think to yourself “if I could only get a little lip gloss and mascara on I will be fine”. You proceed to fumble with your make up bag and begin digging like a coal minor only to find that your mascara is nowhere to be found. Is it on the dresser? is it in that handbag you used last week? did it roll off into another universe? I guess you will be showing up lash-less to this event. Stop the madness and get a makeup organizer.
ALEXA
Robots are taking over! Not just yet but in the meantime, you can pick up this device from Amazon for a reasonable price. Alexa can assist with tasks such as alarms, reminders, weather updates, news, trivia, homework (your kid’s homework), jokes, and can also play your favorite radio station. Alexa can also make a shopping list and can even be used as a timer when cooking. I notice that devices like these are sometimes shunned by the older generation and I would like to let everyone know how helpful they can be, it is easy to use and saves a lot of time. Instead of me picking up my phone and opening an app or checking News 12, my mom and I just ask Alexa what’s the weather, it’s that simple.
SMART WATCH
This gadget should be at the top of your “new year new me” goals list. Not only does this watch track your steps, but it also monitors your heart rate which is super important. This watch is also a great motivation tool as the readings will keep you consistent and striving to be better than your last score. Even if you do not have a massive weigh-loss plan this watch can still be helpful, maybe you can you start by walking more. Personally I am impressed by how far smartwatches have come, there was a news report last year of a man who visited the hospital because he felt ill, his doctor ran a few tests then retrieved some vital information from his smartwatch which indicated that the man had suffered a mild heart attack a just few days prior to visiting the hospital and had no idea - Smart Watches are super helpful.
UNDER THE SINK ORGANIZER
I can honestly say that I have saved the best for last! Listen, this thing right here -it will change your life. Aren’t you tired of that junk pile under your bathroom sink? bottles of shampoo, body wash and all the additional miscellaneous bottles that are half done that you weren’t sure what to do with when you stashed it under the sink “temporarily“. Personally I used to dread going under the sink, things would roll out only to get thrown back in while I strategically ease the door back in before a mini avalanche. Since I’ve ordered the Undersink Organizer I don’t have to go through this anymore.
I know that creating goals and attempting to achieve them have made my life more productive and fulfilling but nothing is cooler than making your goals and having a team of tools to back you up!
