Fall is here and the Pumpkins are playing peekaboo everywhere. Summer is still fairly fresh on everyone’s mind especially for the few that are still trying to live out the last few hours of the season. When I was younger I would keep the same skincare routine all year round, and this was such a big mistake. Each season affects your skin in its own way and you have to be consistent with your “in season” routine in order for it to be effective.  Your skin adjusts to the fall air and usually most people continue their summer routine and this may lead to dry blotchy skin. The Fall season can be windy and this causes your skin to lose hydration, this may result in itchy skin and sudden chapped lips. Just like our basic reaction to extreme heat and cold our skin also quickly reacts to sudden changes in the weather and lifestyle, we can help our skin to not go into shock mode by preparing a routine based on the season and temperature.

Here are some great tips and products to help you transition from Summer to Fall skin effortlessly.

  • Adding vitamin E oil to your skin care regimen can change you skins texture dramatically

  • Use often, but not as often as a moisturizer

  • Apply to face, use q-tips to add the oil to your lashes and under eyes.

Don’t be afraid to listen to your skin; how does your skin feel after you wash your face at nights? how does it feel in the mornings? Use these questions to determine how you approach your skin care routine for that day. Feel free to add sheet-masks for extra moisture, clay masks to attack enlarged pores and exfoliate to bring out your brightest fall skin.

How is your diet? Remember that a good skin care routine includes eating well. Lots of fruits and vegetables will help to keep your skin healthy and lots of water will keep your skin hydrated.
