1. Tell us about yourself.

"Hi, my name is Thacia and I am 33 years old. I am the proud mother of a vibrant 6-year-old girl. My business partner and I decided to resign from our 9 to 5 three years ago to start a wholesale trimmings and accessories business which is the riskiest, but the bravest thing I've ever done."

2. If you could have one superpower what would it be and how would you use it to make the world better?

"If I could have one superpower it would be the ability to pause or turn back time. As a full time working mom, there is never enough time in one day. Not enough time to sleep, not enough time at work and especially not enough time spent with loved ones. I would use this gift to give the rest of the world more time with their loved ones. Too many times a loved one dies not giving family member to the opportunity to say goodbye. I experienced this personally when my father passed away when I was away in college, not giving me the chance to say goodbye."

3. Name 1 constant struggle that you face daily and how do you cope or plan to overcome it?

"There are two things that I struggle with on a daily basis. The first is getting an early start to my day, and the second is getting all the items on my to-do list done by the end of the day.  I am not a morning person. I'm the person who drags herself out of bed every morning. The person who hits the snooze button 5 times before finally getting up. Yes, I can admit to it. For this reason, I get a late start every day which directly correlates with why I'm not getting all my tasks accomplished during the day. To cope with these struggles, I look at every day as a new beginning. A new day to start over, do better and be better.  I've also taught myself to prioritize. This helps with the second struggle.  Work is never done. The key to efficiency is to prioritize."

4. At what point during the day do you feel the happiest?

"I am the happiest at nights when I'm finally home with my family. Family is very important. I've never lived by myself and I don't know if I could survive living by myself. Whether it's hanging out with my siblings or watching a Disney movie with my 6-year-old. Family gives me the most joy."

5. Is there a specific word or phrase that you use in your everyday life that keeps you motivated?

"Well, I have several. In general circumstances, I always tell myself to 'just keep swimming'. This simple yet very relatable phrase from Finding Nemo reminds us to just keep moving forward. Eventually, you will get to your destination. Another phrase I continue to remind myself is that failure is not an option. I have a daughter who I vowed to give the best possible life. So for her, I will always strive to be a better person, be a lifelong learner and achieve as much as I can in this lifetime."
